Web site statistics can inspire new content
by Susan Snipes
If you are interested in attracting visitors to your Web site or your industry blog, you likely know that you need fresh, original content — both to rank well in search engines and to keep your visitors coming back.
The best content is unique information in an area where your company has expertise. Resist recycling content that you’ve written before, or redistributing someone else’s research and write something new!
If you’re short on brainstorms for new content, take a look at your visitor statistics.
Web site keyword statistics
Visitor statistics list what phrases people are using to find your web site. These keywords can be fascinating and highly insightful: they’re words people are actually searching for, and they’ve used them to get to your Web site.
For example, someone recently found the Q Digital Studio site by searching for the phrase “create a market related image”. Our Web site does not currently have a page specifically on the nitty-gritty of this topic, but much of the site is about how we help architects and interior designers create and build their identity with custom logos, business cards and Web sites. Writing an article about how we work with our clients to design materials best suited for their target market could be a great reference for our clients and visitors.
If you don’t currently track your statistics on your Web site, it might be time to set this up! Ask your webmaster for help or send us email >
